Welcome to the ELEMENTS blog. We are an experiential learning program.

We have created this blog as an extension to the learning environment in our classroom; but, it also provides a medium for students to showcase and discuss what they created, experienced, or want to see in the classroom.

                               Love, Life or Friends

                                  A short story by Alex

This is a story about a man named Kevin and his choices between life, love or his friends. It started when he was walking down a dark alley at night; it was 11:35pm. He was on his way to a friend’s house and he decided to take a short-cut through an ally. He turned his head to look at cars passing by behind him, his head snapped forward as he heard a sound coming from behind a garbage can. He crept forward to take a look, as he was about to turn the corner he heard footsteps from behind him, he turned around then felt a sharp pain as something hit his head. As he was about to blackout he saw a face that appeared mean yet soft and calm. He later awoke in a small, cold room and the only thing in the room was a clock, and it read 1:38pm, but he second hand wasn’t moving so he assumed it was dead.

As he was thinking about it the door swung open and his heart suddenly froze.                                                                                   END OF CHAPTER ONE

                                 Chapter Two

The man that had entered the room was wearing a ski mask and held a mac10 (if u don’t know what a mac10 is click here: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=mac10&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.1354675689,d.cGE&bpcl=39650382&biw=1192&bih=543&wrapid=tlif135525301034910&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=FoXHUMDPPITeigLl9oCICQ ) in his right hand. He looked Kevin in the eye and said “It’s pointless to try and escape anyway all the doors are locked and we’ll kill your family along with you”, Kevin’s eyes widened as he heard those words left the man’s mouth, Kevin began pleading with the man but he ignored him and left Kevin in the dark as the door shut behind him and locked, Kevin began crying. The next day Kevin’s friend was walking to his friend’s house to ask why he didn’t show at his house. He approached the door and knocked then he waited…. and waited………….. No answer. He began to worry about his friend. He went for the spare key under the vase to the left of the door. He picked it up and unlocked the door then walked in calling his friends name yet still got no answer. He searched the house for a good fifteen minutes but found nothing. He called 911 and reported him missing. The police were at the house in five minutes and began to search the house for any evidence of where he could be, two hours later they found nothing of his whereabouts.

END OF CHAPTER TWO

                                 Chapter Three

Kevin awoke to a smashing noise as the door opened quickly and the masked man rushed in and grabbed Kevin by the arm and then dragged him to a white van. The masked man threw Kevin into the van and slammed the door, moments later the engine started and the van began moving. Kevin had no idea where he was going but knew he couldn’t do anything about it. They had been driving for hours and Kevin had fallen asleep in the previous hour. Twenty minutes later he was once again woke rudely by the masked man, but there were more men behind him and they all came forward the and picked him up then they took him to a building to the left of him. He was taken inside and down several flights of stairs to the basement. He was then thrown into a small room, the door slammed behind him then he heard a “click” as the door locked. Kevin sat up and looked around, the room seemed bigger than the previous room he had been kept in.
